Braden update
Well I have successfully gotten Braden to eat puree's without the assistance of a speech therapist. Who knows when I'll get their assistance. It takes so long to get set up. I am so thrilled to announce that Braden is eating twice daily. He eats a mixture of a vege w/chicken and has bananas for dessert. He averages a little over an ouce at each meal. Braden also had to go for his RSV shot today. So the Ped.s office weighed him and he is now over 18 lbs. AMAZING... I also had to feed Braden in the car. So I tried giving him bananas and he actually ate in the car after getting a shot. What a trooper. I am so thrilled with his progress and this huge leap forward.

Braden update
I apologize for not posting sooner. Braden is keeping me very busy these days. He's gotten so big it takes longer to do things for him. He is also big enough for his bouncers and now that he is healed from surgery we are doing lots of therapy. We still do not have PT set up but I have gotten calls and they are working on it. As far as Braden's fever we were being extra cautious. He is doing just fine now. Thankgoodness and he does not have RSV. We keep him so isolated but he could get RSV while at Vandy. I am so glad our Vandy appt.s are down to once per month. Here are a couple of photos from this morning. Braden had just had a bath.

Braden update
Braden had a fever this morning of 101.3 so we took him in to the Pediatrician. So far we cannot find anything wrong. So if his RSV test and mucus collection don't show anything it may just be viral. The ped. does not think he has RSV we are just testing him as a precaution. We also visited the Ortho Doc today. We totally caught off guard by Braden's X-Ray. Apparently, his left hip is not properly aligned or out of socket. Which means some type of surgery within this next year.
:-( We will know more later but we will be referred to a Vandy Doctor for further consultation. Hopefully that will take place soon and we can at least know what to expect. One good thing is Braden hasn't started walking. Apparently, the recovery time for these types of surgeries can be a few months. At least he won't be a toddler wanting to be on the move and forced to stay in bed against his will.

Braden's Pulmonary Visit
Braden went to see Pulmonary today for a routine visit. They were very pleased that Braden is now 16 lbs 13 ozs and 26 inches long. He is growing so well. We are very excited. Braden has had a little trouble at nite dropping his sats. but picking them right back up. So we have him on a slightly higher 28% with 3 liter flow. During the day he is on 24% w 2 liter flow. We also met with his nutritionist. She has upped his feeds to 124 cc's 8 X's per day. Once he starts feeding therapy the goal is to get him to take most of his feeds by mouth. Using more solids than fluid. They will also switch him off formula beginning of April. Ok well monkey is getting restless on my lap so I need to entertain him.

2-4-08 Sometimes it's just too hard to get a non blurry shot. He is so small. But, this is a picture without tape on his chin.

Braden
1/20/08 Little Kaleigh's photo last nite didn't come out. They had her in the dark so it was difficult to get a good shot. :-(
